Only One King - And It’s not Trump
The No Kings protesters this weekend had no shame in hiding their true colors. Political violence has become an acceptable form of "debate" on the left. While the Biden administration targets Catholics and parents at school board meeting, the right never attempted to take his life, nor did we want to. The protestors this week openly called for the death of our sitting president and celebrated the public execution of a prominent right wing political figure.
The root of this problem lies in the heart. It is not a political problem. It is not a right and left battle. We are living in the midst of a trecherous war between the spiritual powers of good and evil. Every day that passes, our world grow closer to the return of Jesus. For those who don't know, the world looks pretty bleak right before the church is removed from the scene. That does not mean I believe that Jesus is taking us home in this life time or even the next. Only God the Father knows that. However, the pieces are aligning to allow for the end times to occur. Good becomes evil and evil becomes good (Isaiah 5:20). People will invent new ways of doing evil (Romans 1:30). Not only will they commit the evil acts, they will approve of those who do as well (Romans 1:32).
With that said, we face a battle larger than our own. The above image is an estimate of the dollars invested in the protests. If these were natural gathering of only American's who wanted their voices heard, why would there need to be hundreds of millions of dollars spent? Easy, protestors were paid to be there and some to agitate in cities like Portland.
Logic and common sense have been lost in our society.
The issue with these slogans and movements goes deeper than the blatant calls for violance against political opponents. Logic and common sense have been lost in our society. I would venture to say most knowledge of actual historical facts. If we were living in a monarchy, Trump wouldn't have to abide by a judges orders. The government would be open right now, because Trump, as king, could ordain it, and it would be so. Every president has ordered deportations en masse. They have ordered military strikes to avoid war or take down high level foreign adversaries without the knowledge and consent of Congress. So why is it suddenly a monarchy when this president decides to do it?
Now, I have been cut from a different cloth. I encourage a monarchy, but not one of this world. Trump was elected and should not be an ultimate ruler as he clearly is not. However, as a follower of Jesus, I live under the rule of a King. The King of Kings, in fact. Becuase He watches over this nation, I will continue to pray that he guides the lost and the violent back to Himself. After all, we are living in spritual warfare, so the battle is God's to fight.
